Teaser Tuesday - "Moonglass"

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along!

Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Tuesday Teaser for today is...

Moonglass

by Jessi Kirby

"Still, every night when I flipped of the living room light, I stood for a minute in our warm living room, starring out the giant window at the dark silhouette of the abandoned cottage, waiting.  For something."

Thanks to Jessi Kirby for this stunning debut novel which I received from Simon Pulse.

If you would like the opportunity to meet Jessi in person she will be appearing on the Teen/YA Stage at the Orange County Children's Book Festival on Sunday, October 2nd,  taking part in the "Keeping It Real" panel being Moderated by Heidi Kling!

An abandoned structure? Sounds like a good place to make trouble. Great teaser.

And thank you SO much for visiting Tales of Whimsy! :)

What I loved most was how moonglass tied the whole story together. They are usually called sea glass, but moonglass is a word Anna and her mom made up. Whenever they found a piece of sea glass during a full moon it'd be called, moonglass. It just fit so well and wrapped up the story like the finishing touches of a bow. You'll have to read the book to see how it ties in so perfectly!
